در روز جهانی تلویزیون ، وضعیت نگران کننده تلویزیون ها در افغانستان

In 1996, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 21st as “World Television Day”. The United Nations declared the purpose of such an action to encourage countries to exchange television programs, especially programs that are made to spread peace, social and economic development, and strengthen the cultural issues of society.

Television broadcasting in Afghanistan started in 1357, and since then, television has played an important role in entertainment and information for the people of the country.

However, after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan, many restrictions were imposed on the activities of televisions by this group. In the most recent decree issued by the Ministry of Public Affairs of the Taliban, it has been announced that it is forbidden to show the image of “lives” in the media, which has faced the concerns of many journalists and media activists.

The Organization for the Protection of Journalists has also issued a statement on the occasion of this day and mentioned that in the past three years, the visual media of Afghanistan have faced severe restrictions and the current rulers have imposed extensive censorship, closing the media and threatening journalists, the atmosphere of freedom of expression and they have limited the free flow of information. This organization has asked the international community, human rights institutions and media to strengthen their practical and immediate support for Afghan media and journalists
