Pakistani authorities have announced that they have arrested 11 members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan who were involved in a suicide attack on Chinese engineers.
According to Reuters, this news was announced in a press conference held by Pakistan’s counter-terrorism chief Rai Tahir and Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi. Rai Tahir said that “a cell phone used by the suicide bomber to communicate with his local handlers led to the arrest of the suspects.” According to him, investigations and evidence show that “militants were taking orders from the leaders of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Afghanistan”.Before this, the Ministry of Defense rejected the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan and said that the area where Chinese citizens were targeted by the explosion is under heavy security cover of the Pakistani army.
