Naghlu Solar Power Project Inaugurated to Boost Kabul’s Electricity
The Taliban has inaugurated a 22.75 MW solar power project in the Naghlu area of Sarobi district, Kabul, claiming it will alleviate power shortages in the capital. Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherket announced that the project was completed in one year at a cost of approximately $18 million .
Officials state that this new solar facility will provide electricity to over 23,000 families. Residents of Kabul frequently face severe power outages during the peak winter and summer seasons due to a lack of domestic energy production .
Currently, Afghanistan imports most of its electricity from neighboring countries. This project represents a move towards utilizing domestic renewable resources to address the chronic energy deficit affecting citizens in the capital .
