The world’s internet becomes 22 times faster
Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) has set a new data transmission record with a new optical fiber.
This optical fiber with a data transfer rate of 22.9 petabit per second can transfer data 22 times the world’s internet traffic per second. To have a better understanding of this speed, it should be said that one petabit is one million gigabits. As a result, the data transfer rate of 22.9 petabit is very fast.
It should be mentioned that NASA had reached the rate of 46 terabits per second or 0.046 petabits per second.
