China, Russia, and Iran Launch Joint Naval Drills in South Africa

آغاز مانور دریایی مشترک چین، روسیه و ایران در آفریقای جنوبی

China, Russia, and Iran have kicked off joint naval exercises in the waters off South Africa as part of a BRICS Plus operation. The drills, reported on Saturday, January 10, aim to enhance maritime security for economic activities and improve coordination among the member nations’ fleets.

Chinese military officials leading the opening ceremony noted that observers from Brazil, Egypt, and Ethiopia are also participating in the event. These maneuvers come at a time of heightened geopolitical tension between the US and key members of the expanded BRICS alliance.

President Trump has previously accused BRICS nations of pursuing anti-American agendas and threatened to impose additional tariffs on their goods. This naval exercise is seen as a significant display of unity and strength by non-Western powers in response to external political and economic pressure.
