World Food Program: 16 million people in Afghanistan need urgent aid
Officials in the United Nations World Food Program in Afghanistan say that 16 million people in Afghanistan need urgent aid right now.Philip Croft, head of communications for the United Nations World Food Program in Afghanistan, says that the program is currently only able to provide aid to seven million people in need due to lack of funds.He adds that although the World Food Program has recently received promises of cash aid such as a 21 million euro grant from the European Union; However, these donations will be used for last year’s expenses of this organization, which were incurred due to the earthquake in Herat and the return of immigrants from Pakistan.
