Taliban Builds Large Religious School in Badakhshan

Local sources in Badakhshan province say that the Taliban has built a large religious school in the province at a cost of 20 million Afghanis. The school is located in the seventh district of Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, and is now operational.

The religious school is built in two floors and covers an area of 10 acres. Currently, there are 562 students enrolled in the school, studying the Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic law.

The Taliban has said that the school is intended to provide religious education to young people in Badakhshan. The school is also seen as a way for the Taliban to consolidate its control over the province.

Some critics have expressed concern that the school is being used to indoctrinate young people with extremist views. They say that the school is a threat to the future of Afghanistan.

The Taliban has denied these allegations, saying that the school is simply providing religious education.

The construction of the religious school is the latest sign of the Taliban’s efforts to consolidate its control over Afghanistan. The Taliban has taken control of most of the country since the withdrawal of US and NATO troops in August 2021.
