Afghan Cricket Board Lifts Suspension of Three National Team Players

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has lifted the suspension of three national team players, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeburrahman, and Naveenul Haq. The players were suspended in December 2023 for refusing to sign a central contract with the ACB and for preferring to play in club cricket over national duty.

The ACB said in a statement on Facebook that the players had submitted a request for a review of their suspension without any conditions. The ACB then appointed a committee to review the request.

The committee decided that the players would be allowed to return to the national team, but they would be subject to a set of guidelines in order to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future The ACB said that the players would be given a chance to earn back their central contracts and their permission to play in club cricket.

The decision to lift the suspension of the three players is a positive step for the ACB. It shows that the ACB is willing to work with the players to resolve issues. It is also a positive sign for the future of Afghan cricket.

The three players are all key members of the Afghan national team. Fazalhaq Farooqi is a top-order batsman, Mujeeburrahman is a world-class leg-spinner, and Naveenul Haq is a fast bowler. The return of these players will strengthen the Afghan team and give them a better chance of success in international cricket.
