UNICEF Provides Urgent Winter Aid to Quake-Hit Families in Afghanistan

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced support for families affected by recent earthquakes in Afghanistan. The aid package includes warm clothing, clean water, cash assistance, and temporary learning spaces to meet the immediate needs of children during the harsh winter .

This assistance comes as living conditions have become extremely difficult for families who lost their homes or lack proper shelter due to the earthquakes. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has also noted that climate change is intensifying natural disasters in the country .

Afghanistan is currently facing multiple crises, including drought and a massive wave of returning refugees. UNICEF emphasized that these supplies are crucial to support vulnerable families and children facing the bitter cold without adequate housing .
