Taliban Provides Humanitarian Assistance to Afghan Families
Local Taliban authorities in Herat, Takhar, and Parwan have announced the distribution of cash and food aid to 11,623 needy families in these provinces.
The Taliban’s Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Herat said that 4,260 needy families in the Enghela district of the province received 13.6 million Afghanis in cash from the World Food Programme Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Takhar said that 6,153 needy families in the Talqan city, the center of the province, received cash assistance from the World Food Programme. According to the directorate, 3,200 Afghanis were distributed to each family.
In the meantime, the Taliban’s Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Parwan said that 1,100 needy families in the Surkh Parsa district of the province received food aid from the World Food Programme. The aid included flour, oil, lentils, and nutritious food for children.
The distribution of humanitarian assistance by the Taliban is a positive step, as it helps to meet the needs of Afghan families who are struggling to make ends meet. The cash assistance will help families to purchase food and other essentials, while the food aid will provide families with nutritious food to help them stay healthy.
The assistance was funded by the World Food Programme and distributed by the Taliban, suggesting that the group is willing to work with international organizations to help Afghans in need.
