The United Nations demanded an immediate end to the death penalty by the Taliban

In response to the public execution of two people in Ghazni province, the Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) asked the Taliban to immediately stop the death penalty.UNAMA wrote in a post on X this evening (Thursday, 3rd of Pisces) that the United Nations strongly opposes the death penalty and considers it to be in conflict with the fundamental right to life.
