According to reports, Turkey has arrested 18 people on charges of membership and connection with the ISIS group
Anatolia news agency reported that Turkish security forces arrested these people on Tuesday morning, February 20, during an operation in Istanbul.According to the report, within the framework of the investigations carried out by the Office of Terrorism and Organized Crimes of the Istanbul General Prosecutor’s Office, 19 defendants, including a number of foreign citizens who were working in connection with the ISIS terrorist group, were identified and 18 of them were arrested.However, the identity of the arrested persons has not been determined.At the same time, the National Intelligence and Security Organization of Turkey arrested 17 people on charges of being members of the Khorasan branch of ISIS in that country in the beginning of this month.In December of last year, the Turkish security forces arrested 32 suspects on charges of being connected to the ISIS group, who were planning to attack churches and synagogues, as well as the Iraqi embassy in Turkey.
