Kabul – The Daikundi Department of Education has banned its employees from shaving their beards, stressing that the department employees must wear a hat or a turban.

“From now on, do not shave your beards, and put on a hat or a turban, and the females must wear hijab,” according to a statement issued by the Daikundi Department of Education.

If the employees disobey the order, they will be dealt with legally, the statement stressed.

Meanwhile, a source in the Daikundi Department of Education told Hasht-e Subh that the order was first given orally to the staff, and today it is mentioned in writing form.

Earlier, the Taliban in Uruzgan province had instructed government officials to equate their appearance with Islamic principles, grow beards, and wear a turban.
