Nine Coal Workers Die in Baghlan
Kabul – Nine miners have been died due to the collapse of a coal mine in Nahrin district of Baghlan, local sources say.
According to the sources, the incident took place in the Chenarak coal mine of the district on (Wednesday, February 2).
“The mine collapsed due to heavy rains,” Bashir Ahmad, a worker of the Chenarak coal mine, told Hasht-e Subh.
According to him, eight bodies of workers have been pulled out of the rubble so far, and another is still trapped, and efforts are underway to take him out.
Moreover, Qari Majid, Nahrin district governor, confirmed the incident and said that their forces had been sent to the area to help find the bodies of the miners.
Meanwhile, it is not the first time miners have died. In the past, such incidents have happened in various mines in the country, which are extracted non-standard.
