Kabul – Armed robbers have stolen 450 million afghanis of coal money of the Dara-e-Suf in Samangan from Taliban forces on the Mazar-e-Sharif-Samangan highway, local sources say.

“The money was supposed to be transferred by the Taliban forces from Samangan to Mazar-e-Sharif by land,” said a source to Hasht-e Subh today Tuesday, December 28th.

According to the source, a clash took place in the middle of the road between the Taliban forces and the thieves, in which two Taliban forces were killed.

Mawlawi Imdadullah Mohajer, Samangan’s director of intelligence and culture, confirmed the causalities, however, said nothing about the stolen money.

Meanwhile, the passengers had recently expressed concern about armed robberies on the roads, especially the Kunduz-Baghlan highway.
