Local sources in Balkhab district of Sar-e Pol province have reported that the Taliban in this district have seized the properties of civilians as war booty.
During the house-to-house search operations, the Taliban have taken away the properties of civilians, especially their vehicles, and named them as war booty, sources reported Saturday.
More than 1,200 families have been displaced as the result of the clashes between Taliban fighters and individuals loyal to Mawlawi Mehdi, sources told Hasht-e Subh.
According to the sources, the families living in Balkhab had hidden their cars and motorcycles in the village of Lalander and Sorkhak Balaq when they fled from the clashes, but the Taliban seized the vehicles by attacking these areas.
Since the Taliban have started clashes against Commander Mehdi, the group’s affiliated Hazara expelled commander, they have been accused of war crimes, killing civilians, and widespread violations of human rights in this district.
