For the first time in Farah, a book fair was held by booksellers in cooperation with the Taliban’s Information and Culture Department in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three-day book fair opened on Tuesday, December 5, in the city of Farah, and will continue until Thursday, December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organizers of the fair say the purpose of the fair is to address the low level of reading among individuals, especially young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They add that the fair features a variety of cultural, Islamic, and contemporary books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to them, some of these books are being given away for free to visitors, and others are being sold at a discounted price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are trying to promote the culture of reading in Farah,” said Mohammad Abdulhai Sabawoon, head of the Information and Culture Department in Farah. “We believe that books can help people to learn and grow.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fair has been welcomed by residents of Farah, who say they are eager to have access to a wider variety of books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I am very happy that this fair is being held,” said Fatima, a student in Farah. “I love to read, but it can be difficult to find books in Farah.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
