The United States has imposed international sanctions on companies accused of financing North Korea’s weapons programs
On Thursday, March 28, it was announced that the United States has sanctioned six individuals and two entities based in Russia, China, and the United Arab Emirates for allegedly financing North Korea’s weapons program.
The US Department of Treasury, in a statement published on Wednesday night, announced that these sanctions were imposed along with South Korea.
According to the statement, the sanctioned companies include “Alice” in Russia and “Pioneer Bencont Star” in the United Arab Emirates related to “North Korea’s Chinyong Information Technology Company”. This domestic technology company also cooperates with the North Korean armed forces.
These sanctions show that the international efforts to deal with North Korea’s weapons activities continue continuously, and the United States is taking joint actions in this field together with its allied countries.
