Special Representative of Pakistan: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan receives money from India through Afghan representatives
Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs says Islamabad has evidence that the Pakistani Taliban receives money from India through Afghan representatives.Asif Durrani estimates that five to six thousand Pakistani Taliban fighters have taken refuge in Afghanistan.He added that if the number of families of members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban is considered, their total number reaches seventy thousand people.This senior Pakistani diplomat says, “Apparently, other people are paying for their stay. “Because the Taliban cannot provide the daily expenses of this large number.”Speaking at the Pakistan Center for Peace Studies on Saturday, 26 August, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs did not specify who he meant by “Afghan representatives” who take money from India and give it to the Pakistani Taliban.Asif Durrani says that Pakistan’s peace talks with the Pakistani Taliban have already failed because the group was neither ready to surrender nor loyal to Pakistan’s constitution.This Pakistani official added that Pakistan told the Taliban that “TTP is the red line of Pakistan” and that the Taliban should arrest the leadership of the Pakistani Taliban and disarm this group.Pakistan’s military authorities have repeatedly stated that the root of Pakistan’s insecurity lies in Afghanistan. Rejecting this claim, the Afghan Taliban said that Islamabad “throws its snow on the roof of Kabul.”In the latest case, the Pakistani Taliban killed at least seven Pakistani security forces by organizing several suicide attacks in North Waziristan on Saturday, 26 August.
