Afghan journalist Kobra Hasani will not be deported from Russia
As concerns grow about the risk of deportation of Afghan journalist Kobra Hasani from Russia, a court in St. Petersburg has overturned this decision.
On Thursday, 15 of February, the Russian Meduza media reported the decision of the Krasnoselsky District Court of St. Petersburg not to deport the Afghan journalist who fled to Russia after the Taliban took over.
In the case of Hasani, who is accused of illegally crossing the Russian border into Europe, the court said that it is “impossible” to forcibly deport him from Russian territory, but a travel ban should be imposed on him.
