Canada welcomed 316 Afghan refugees from Pakistan

316 Afghan refugees were flown to Canada by the government on a charter jet from Pakistan.

The Canadian Department of Immigration and Citizenship announced this evening, Tuesday, October 30, that the asylum seekers had reached Toronto.

According to the organization, 36 venues in Calgary, Hamilton, and St. Catharines will host recently arrived asylum seekers for resettlement.

Since August 2021, the Canadian government claims to have granted asylum to 40,000 residents of Afghanistan. According to the nation, cases that have already been accepted are being worked on.

Since the beginning of the process of deporting unauthorized immigrants and asylum seekers from Pakistan, Canada has accelerated the transfer of Afghan residents. This nation moved 325 Afghan nationals from Pakistan to Calgary six days ago.
