Taliban Carry Out Airstrikes on Mawlawi Mehdi’s House As Offensives on Indigenous Forces Resume in Balkhab
Sources close to Mawlawi Mehdi say that the Taliban has carried out an airstrike on his house in Balkhab, Sar-e-Pul province.
According to the source, Mawlawi Mehdi’s house in the Hoosh village of Balkhab district was targeted by airstrikes at around 10:30 AM on Saturday (June 25th).
The source says that none of Mehdi’s relatives were injured in the attack.
Mehdi Mujahid’s family members were reportedly present at his home when the Taliban carried out the airstrikes.
The Taliban have not commented on the matter. They had not previously spoken about the fighting in Panjshir and Baghlan provinces.
Fighting in Balkhab between the Taliban and indigenous forces led by Mawlawi Mehdi has been going on for three days now, and dozens have been killed and wounded on both sides.
