NRF Top Leaders Traveling to Moscow
Kabul – Sources in the National Resistance Front (NRF) confirm that Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the front, and Salahuddin Rabbani, the leader of Jamiat-e Islami of Afghanistan, are traveling to Moscow.
According to sources, the former Vice President Amrullah Saleh has already left for Moscow, and Ahmad Massoud and Salahuddin Rabbani are scheduled to travel this week.
Meanwhile, Rahmatullah Nabil, the former head of national security, earlier said that Mullah Baradar and Mullah Yaqoob had secretly traveled to Russia.
The purpose of the visit of the top leaders of the (NRF) to Moscow is to meet with senior Taliban officials, according to sources.
However, the Russian Foreign Ministry has not yet commented on the matter.
On the other hand, sources say the visit comes at a time in Moscow while the Taliban foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi is busy meeting with western officials in Oslo.
