Kabul – Local sources in Balkh province confirm that a couple was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif on Friday, December 31.
However, a number of locals told Hasht-e Subh that the two had been killed by the Taliban on charges of moral corruption.
According to them, the woman was accused of moral corruption and had earlier received a warning by the Taliban.
In the meantime, officials at Abu Ali Sina Hospital in Balkh confirm that the bodies of a wounded man and woman who were shot were brought to the hospital on Friday. According to them, the injured died after two days.
Meanwhile, Taliban officials have called on their forces to drop the field trial and hand over the criminals to the authorities. However, local Taliban officials have repeatedly been seen disobeying the order.
